So, the wife bought me a brand new humidor for Father's Day and I just couldn't figure out why the humidity level wasn't going up at all. Until I realized I didn't prime it. So all the nice new cedar lining was competing with all of my cigars that I transferred over to it.

So, just spreading a little advice to any newcomers to cigars. Don't forget to prime that nice fancy new humidor. Take a sponge, and wipe down all of the walls with distilled water. Fill up the humidification unit and then let it sit for a day or two until the humidity reaches your desired level. At that point you can add more water to the humidification unit and transfer your cigars over.

lol, i did that as well. My humidor wouldn't go above 50% humidity for the longest time. It was rather cheap, so not sure if that contributed. Seems to be fine now, always around 70%.
