I did a mail order for some cigars and they seem a bit dry/old. Should have known better than order them from a company I know nothing about.

I haven't been smoking cigars for long so I don't know much about them, but what's the best way to bring these back to life a bit? I have a humidor, should I remove them from their individual plastic wrappers and then just put them in the humidor for awhile, or should I keep them in the wrapper?

Thanks.

Care to share the company, so I can avoid them? \:\)

As for your question, that seems to be debated. Some say to leave them in the cellophane wrapper. I've always taken mine out if I know I'm going to be leaving them in the humidor for an extended period of time, especially if they need to be revived. My belief is that allows them to come back to life quicker.

However, if they are extremely dry, I've read that you don't want to do that as it can make them even worse. If they are as hard as a rock, you can leave them in the wrapper for a few weeks, to slowly absorb the moisture. Once they start regaining a bit of life, then you can remove them from the wrapper.

That's just my opinion however, so take it for what it's worth. ;\)

I won't rip on them just yet. I sent them a oomplaint email and they say they will make up for it, how that is, I have yet to see.

I went ahead and removed the cello wrappers. They weren't rock hard, but definitely a little stale feeling.
